Carson’s Premium Grain Free Dog Food is a family-run business based in Lanarkshire, founded by Mags and Stevie — dog breeders first, and dog-food makers second.
Like a lot of responsible breeders, they spent years paying close attention to the things that genuinely affect a dog’s condition: appetite, digestion, energy levels, coat health, and how well dogs cope with changes in routine. Over time, they became increasingly frustrated with what they were seeing in the mainstream market. Many foods looked impressive on the front of the bag, but didn’t always deliver consistent results for the dogs in their care, particularly those with sensitive stomachs or ingredients that didn’t agree with them.
So they did what practical, dog-obsessed people tend to do: they got serious about what they were feeding, and started developing their own recipes for their own dogs. The goal wasn’t to create a “trend” diet — it was to make a reliable, nutritious food that suited the dogs they lived with every day.
The difference was noticeable enough that friends, clients, and other dog owners began asking what they were feeding and where they could get it. That was the real start of Carson’s Premium: food and snacks that began as a solution at home, then grew into a business because other owners wanted the same quality.
At the heart of the brand is a simple belief the team still stand by: the health, fitness and happiness of your dog depends on the food you choose to feed it.
Carson’s Premium specialises in premium grain-free dog food at prices that feel fair. Made in the UK, our recipes use high-quality, natural ingredients and a high meat content to support complete, balanced nutrition for all breeds, sizes and life stages.
They’re grain free as well as wheat and gluten free, which can make them a good option for dogs with sensitive stomachs or suspected intolerances.
Not all grain-free foods are equal — “grain free” only tells you what’s been left out. We focus on the full nutritional profile, using quality protein sources and alternative carbohydrates to provide steady energy and digestibility.
Because some grain-free recipes can be more calorie dense, correct portions matter for keeping your dog in healthy condition. If you’re switching from another food, we recommend a gradual changeover over 7–14 days so your dog’s digestion can adjust comfortably.
Alongside our main grain-free dog food, Carson’s Premium offers natural snacks and chews that dogs absolutely love — even if they look a bit questionable to us!
Think puffed chicken feet, turkey necks, venison skins, buffalo horns and lamb ears. These are popular because they keep dogs happily occupied, support natural chewing instincts, and make brilliant rewards for training and good behaviour.
Many owners also prefer them because they’re straightforward, natural treats rather than highly processed snacks.
As with any treat, balance is the key. Chews can be surprisingly calorie rich, so it’s worth adjusting meal portions if your dog is getting them regularly. Always choose a treat that suits your dog’s size and chewing style, supervise chewing (especially with enthusiastic chewers), and make sure fresh water is available.
If your dog has known allergies or medical conditions, it’s sensible to check with your vet which proteins and treat types are best.
Give your dog the best. Carson’s Premium.
